Fast-hardening foam - 
The newest technology of fire and explosion prevention

New fire-fighting agent is developed with using of newest fire and explosion prevention technology for solid and liquid combustible materials. The technology was called “Fast-hardening foam” (FHF). It consists of component A and component B. The new method allows to perform controllable gelation foams, in the range from 2 to 30 seconds up to 100 Pa•s viscosity . Chemical structure and hierarchical morphology obtained by SEM images and nitrogen physisorbtion develop thermal insulation capabilities of the foams, reaching a specific heat value of more than 2.5 kJ/(kg•°С). Unique properties and composition made it possible to achieve an exceptional specific extinguishing agent consumption value of 1L/m2 in contrast to 4L/m2 for the same surfactant solution.

Fast-hardening Foam (FHF)

        Purpose: extinguishing solid and liquid flammable materials (fire classes А and B) FHF is a water-filled composition, on basis of which from the liquid component A by mixing with the component B and the air the gellike foamed substance is formed (hardening foam). This substance has high fire resistance and can counteract the flame temperature during 2-3 hours. According to many publications organic-inorganic hybrid materials by sol-gel approach represent a growing and attractive area of nano-engineered materials because of their promise to provide specific peculiarity and multifunctional alternatives to pure organic foams for preventing fires and explosions. Previously it was shown that the use of three-phase systems (gas, liquid, solid) is more efficient for this purpose. The formation of the solid phase in the foam promotes the fire-extinguishing efficiency due to increasing its adhesion, thermal stability, durability and other physical properties. Fast-hardening foam is unique approach for formation of the dispersed phase and subsequent sol-gel transition in the course of producing the surfactant foam, which allows one to maintain the classic behavior of air foams while providing new, the properties like thermal and mechanical stability, fire resistance.

  • Extinguishing fires at ammunition depots and storage sites
  • Extinguishing explosives and chemicals
  • Extinguishing fires in forests and agricultural lands
  • Extinguishing fires in high-bay warehouses
  • Extinguishing fires in warehouses of rubber products, etc
  • Extinguishing fires in residential and public buildings

The most perspective application is extinguishing inner fires of solid combustible materials in residential and public buildings. Especially when it is necessary to save people lives. According to world statistics 90% of fire victims are victims of inner fires. Ability of Fast-hardening foam to eliminate fire during 5-15 seconds increases greatly tactical possibilities of fire-fighters. Thanks to exceptional extinguishing efficiency required specific consumption value is 4-10 times less in contrast to any other extinguishing agents. Today there isn’t equal technology in the whole world to this one.
